Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to predict the uncertainty that lays on the sidelines of the universe? You and the NBA both...
"Nice For What" you may ask...
Predicting the court side antics of an over zealous fan who takes it upon himself to bestow hugs and shoulder rubs to NBA players and coaches?

Well, this is a slightly different Drake Equation:

This Drake Equation, created by Dr. Frank Drake, is the "probabilistic argument used to estimate the number of active, communicative extraterrestrial civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy" as summarized here.
To break down the variables, here is a chart:

Unfortunately for the first Drake referenced in this post, none of the variables listed in Drake's Equation are "chances of Rihanna calling you back."
Speaking of variables undefined in the aforementioned-

What fraction of those intelligent species with communications technology listen to music, or their version of it?
What variable would you add or what to factor an answer for in this equation?
